Girls, Uninterrupted

If you haven't seen it yet, check out this video, below. It's called The Girl Effect, and it is a video and Web site produced by the Nike Foundation, in partnership with Peter Buffett's NoVo Foundation, to show the positive impact of educating and empowering girls. Shown at The Feast social innovation conference today in Manhattan, the video is one of the more powerful cause "message" campaigns making the rounds of social networks and video-sharing sites:

WOW. As the mother of a 14 month-old girl, I am so glad that Marcia shared that video with us. After watching it I feel empowered and ready to fight for all the girls who have less than my lucky baby does. Unfortunately, I also feel like the video left me hanging. As it ends, I feel like I have to do something. Not sure what it is, but I feel like I should go to a website and learn more about it. The video should have given us steps to get involved if we want to (or with me, have time to!!) Thanks.

Thanks, Rebecca -- for more information, click on "The Girl Effect" in the post (there's a link to it above the video) and that will take you to the Girl Effect Web site for action steps. Thanks for reading!
